Boone County Jail Roster Overview
The public roster path for Boone County is the WV Regional Jail Offender Search. It is not a Boone County Sheriff's Office roster. WV DCR operates the regional jail search, and Southwestern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility is the Boone-serving facility. The jail page says Southwestern serves Boone, Logan, McDowell, and Mingo counties. Sheriff Chad Barker's office may have arrest and law-enforcement records, but the jail custody lookup is handled through WV DCR.
The roster is useful for current jail custody, but it has limits. Boone County Daily Incarcerations
Daily Incarcerations is a second official WV DCR route. It begins with a county dropdown that includes Boone County and also displays institution admissions. On July 2, 2026, the static research observed an institution table showing 10 admissions at Southwestern Regional Jail. That is an admissions figure for the institution on that date, not a Boone County total jail population and not an average daily population.

Boone County Jail and DOC Lookup
Current Boone County jail custody and sentenced West Virginia prison custody are different searches. A person at Southwestern Regional Jail is searched through the regional jail path. A person moved into sentenced prison custody is searched through the WV DCR prison offender search. That prison search accepts either an OID number or both first and last name, with reCAPTCHA. It also states that discharged offenders and people no longer in WV DCR custody will not appear.

Boone County Booking Process
A Boone County arrest may begin with the sheriff's office, a municipal officer, state police, or another agency. For jail custody, the person is routed to Southwestern Regional Jail for booking.
